Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)

SDF or Silver Diamine Fluoride has been used for many years in countries that do not have sufficient access to dental care. In the mid 2010s, it became an option in the United States. The goal of SDF is to help control or arrest decay if there is a substantial length of time between a consult appointment and treatment visit.

SDF is a very safe, and non-complicated treatment option if this is the case for your child. The biggest drawback is that it will turn the decayed areas of the teeth black.

We have attached our consent form for SDF treatment for you to peruse and become more familiar with the pros and cons of choosing SDF.
